]]>Every year in Catalonia in Spain, a Catalan tradition takes place called "Correfoc" which literally translates into "Fire run". A group of individuals dressed as devils and demons light fireworks and dance to the drums of a traditional gralla. Whilst doing so, they run and dance through often narrow streets accompanied by groups of frenzied spectators. The climax of the event is a display of pyrotecnics, fire breathing and music which lasts late into the night.

]]>Skopje, Macedonia. Kosovan Gypsies have set up home on Skopje's city rubbish tip in an area called Shukta having fled Albanian persecution in Kosovo. Their homes are built from discarded waste items and children can often be seen salvaging concrete on a daily basis from the city's building waste dump.

Sudanese Conflict

]]>More than 30 years of civil war have torn Sudan apart and divided the country between the Government controlled north of the country and rebel held territory in the south.
The Sudanese People's Liberation Army, SPLA, often poorly armed, has been defending its' villages and people from frequent aerial and land raids from government troops. Child soldiers, some as young as 8 years old, are often deployed to the front line. Many have been killed or maimed.
South Sudan became an independent state on 9 July 2011.

An area of outstanding natural beauty, only 2 hours from Barcelona, the terrain is wild and vineyards are mostly found between 100 and 700 metres above sea level. Every year, young and innovative winemakers produce rich red wines using seasonal labour from countries such as Gambia or Morocco.
